 HOME
AND SCHOOL We welcome the support and interest
of parents in all aspects of school life. We aim to
keep parents well informed about their children's
education so that a true partnership between home
and school can be achieved. The school runs several
clubs according to the season. There is also an
active Parent Teachers Association which fully
supports the school. All pupils in Classes 2 and 3
have a homework diary, which offers opportunities
for parents to monitor their child's homework, and
comment on the activities set.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES The school has the use of
the village hall and sports field to carry out
sporting activities. We have an annual sports day
in the summer which is enjoyed by all who attend.
Soccer and netball are two of the sports which are
played on an inter school basis.

THE
CURRICULUM All teaching is within the National
Curriculum. The Curriculum is the area of work in
which the children are engaged in school. This may
be taught through topics, usually with a historical
or geographical starting point but covering work in
many subjects. Distinct science topics lead to work
in Technology, Mathematics and Information
Technology. Children will visit areas of work
within the Curriculum more than once in their
school life but at levels which reflect their
development.
CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS The Governors
of the school believe very strongly in supporting
children with learning difficulties. Worth has
access to many services and specialist teachers who
can be called upon to help children with physical
and sensory impairments. We ensure that the 2002
Code of Practice is followed and our SEN policy is
available for your perusal.
SCHOOL HOURS The School is in session from
08.55 - 12.05 and 13.15 - 15.20. There is a break
in the morning and Class 1 has a short playtime in
the middle of the afternoon. On arrival at school a
member of staff will be on duty from 08:45.
